OutBack Power Systems - MX60
MPPT PV Charge Controller
|
|
The
newest generation of PV MPPT charge controllers.
Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technology is
the latest in charge controller design, reclaiming lost performance in
battery based photovoltaic (PV) applications.
The OutBack MX60 MPPT charge controller enables you to
achieve the highest possible performance for your PV system.
Rated at up to 60 amperes DC output current, the MX60
can be used in systems to charge 12, 24, 36, 48 and even 60 volt battery
banks. The MX60 can accept PV open circuit voltages as high as 125VDC.
The MX60's control set-points are fully adjustable to allow it's use with
virtually any battery type, chemistry and charging profile.
The revolutionary design of the MX60 allows the use of
high voltage PV arrays to charge a much lower battery voltage - such as
charging a 24 volt battery from a PV array wired for 48 volts. This type
of configuration reduces losses, increases efficiency and allows the use
of smaller wire from the PV array to the controller.
The MX60 features an easy to use and easy to
understand LCD display. The four line, 80 character display is used for
programming the MX60 and monitoring system performance and is backlit
for easy viewing.
An optional OutBack MATE can be connected to the MX60
to allow monitoring and control of up to eight MX60s (or a combination
of OutBack controllers and inverters) from a distance of up to 300 feet.
The MATE also includes an opto-isolated Let me check S232 data port for
connection to a PC computer for data logging and monitoring.

OutBack Mate Remote Display and Control Panel
The MATE is able to connect, monitor and control up to ten OutBack devices.
The Mate connects to multiple OutBack inverters or controllers through a
communication hub using Ethernet type cabling and RJ45 "phone" jacks.
The Mate also incorporates a real-time clock/calendar to allow time-of-day
programmed operations and an 8 line by 80 character backlit display to view
multiple measurements at the same time and ease programming. Also included with
the Mate is an RS232 data output for computerized data-logging. OutBack is
currently working towards a Windows based graphical user interface for
data-logging and internet connectivity.
